Ocean plastic waste has usually been deteriorating in the water for years, possibly decades. This weakens its structural integrity, so we must add other stronger but still recycled plastic to the fibres to reinforce it in order to have the highest quality product possible.

We design our bags so that you can be caught out in the rain and not worry about your gear inside. However, in torrential rain, we advise that you seek cover as water can still make its way into your pack via the seams. It’s unlikely, but possible.

We work with an ethical and trusted atelier in ShenZhen, a few regions away from where we collect the plastic and make the fabric.

We produce our backpacks in China for the following three reasons:

1. The Yangtze River, China, is one of the most polluted rivers in the world. This is where we collect our plastic. Manufacturing close to where we collect the plastic reduces drastically our carbon footprint, contributing to fewer long haul trips and therefore fewer CO2 emissions. We offset the remaining CO2 emissions and ship to our warehouse, France, by boat.

2. In doing so, we are able to support local communities-in-need by creating jobs for fishermen who have previously lost their revenue due to regulatory fishing bans in the area. 

3. Fewer customs and taxes linked to import and export of bulk quantities reduces the overall retail price of our products.

We choose the most sustainable shipping option available, offsetting the remaining emissions via good quality offsets.

Yes, all our products are guaranteed for life against defects in materials and workmanship. This does not include improper use or abuse of the product.

Unfortunately, we cannot apply discounts to orders that have already been placed.

If it is not too late, you can cancel your current order and place a new one. However once your order has been processed this will no longer be possible. If this is the case, you will have to place a new order to be able to redeem your discount.

Some banks in countries where Collect Paris is not registered may charge an additional processing fee of 1-3% (depending on the bank).

Whilst this is rare, with most banks allowing transactions without additional charges, not all do; this may happen if you are paying in a currency that is not EUR.

No, the amount you spend will be removed from your Gift Card balance. Any remaining amount can then be used on another order you place with us.

Yes, the gift card's entire available balance will be subtracted from your order total, and any leftover amount can be paid using your other preferred means of payment.
